Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is a simple and safe procedure used to exfoliate the epidermis, a process which rids the skin of fine, vellus hair (better known as peach fuzz) for exfoliating the epidermis and ridding the skin of fine vellus hair (peach fuzz). Not to be confused with dermabrasion, dermaplaning involves the act of shaving the epidermis layer of skin, which is safe, quick and effective.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

With the help of a scalpel, the nurse will carefully abrade the surface of the skin in light, feathered strokes. Not only is this the best choice for removing vellus hair, but dermaplaning is also an ideal exfoliation treatment for anyone looking to avoid traditional peeling agents on their skin. As well, removing the epidermal layer of skin will allow products (masks, lotions and serums etc.) to penetrate more effectively into deeper layers of skin. Removing epidermal skin also allows products to penetrate more readily into the deeper layers.
